So lovely to meet you!

Brook Mckinnney | West Central Indiana Family Photographer

Hey, It’s Brook!

I am a Jesus-loving wife and mama mammographer-turned-photographer based in West Central Indiana.

I left my job in healthcare after my second child was born to focus on my passion for homemaking and motherhood, and the pieces of photography fell into my lap so naturally. I am so thankful for the opportunity to pursue creative ways to serve and connect with others while still attending to my home and family. I love to make imagery that reflects the love, peace, and joy of the family unit God gifts us with. I want to capture it all! The crazy beautiful creation that family is – real, raw, messy, and yet so sacred and beautiful.

It can be a struggle to slow down in the busyness of life and remember to get pictures on this journey together with your family let alone portraits you want to frame on your wall. But, I have learned

you never regret it.

Let me guide you through the process as stress-free as possible. I can’t wait to hear your story and the moments of your family you want to capture. Your story and your family are so important!

This isn’t an investment that can only be enjoyed just for today – but for many years to come! Imagine five, fifteen, thirty years down the road going through an album or collection of your favorites you’ve printed. You can share this season and your story, with your children and their children.

Thank you for considering With Love and Wonder Photography to capture this most precious time for you!

Our Story

I was invited to a Christmas Party at a weekly worship night group I had started attending earlier that summer. That is where I finally met Nick.

Fast forward to the party, we almost passed one another and he stopped me. “Oh hey, I don’t think we’ve met. I’m Nick.” When I say that I felt lightning, I am not being cheesy. I don’t think I have ever felt so very jerked “awake” while already awake, if that could be a thing. It was like God was saying, “Are you paying attention?” Instantly, I wanted to know him.

Two to three weeks later, when the gatherings resumed after the new year, I had a friend confirm to me my thoughts when she leaned over mid-conversation with Nick and some friends saying, “I think you are talking to your future husband”. The way my eyes almost bulged out of my head!!!! I couldn’t have been more giddy. The rest was history. His intentionality in friendship and pursuit of my heart has not ended since, he is my very best friend! I feel the intense love of the savior when I recall the events – my real life fairy tale.

We dated from March to December where on the anniversary of the night we met, He recreated the Christmas party and proposed! I didn’t suspect a thing and was blown away. We got married the next April! Three sweet babies later, we are the Mckinney Five!

I would love to say it’s always easy and blissful, but the reality is, marriage and motherhood are transformative tools the Lord uses to change us more and more everyday into His image by His grace. Knowing this, I rejoice in Christ and in relationship trusting the Lord is using the hard bits to produce patience, faith, and character, and in His kindness to shape us.

John 15:4

“Remain in me, and I will remain in you. For a branch cannot produce fruit if it is severed from the vine, and you cannot be fruitful unless you remain in me.”

I love to romanticize the best parts… but don’t write off the “unromantic”. These “other” best parts are the times when the most grace is given. In our weakness and in trials is when we are sharpened by each other and our community, when we must fight to raise little light bearers who love well; these are moments worth fighting for.

As we enjoy these special years, even when they are challenging, to Him be the GLORY.

I am so thankful for the Lord’s kindness to complete the work he begins!

If you’ve made it this far, thank you for letting me share my story with you. I would love to know more about you! Join me over on instagram!
